Corey Brooks

Corey is a third-year Ben Franklin and Johnson Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania from Norfolk, Virginia, studying Health and Societies (Public Health) on the premed track. With minors in Chemistry and Africana Studies, Corey aspires to specialize in chronic diseases that affect the Black community from clinical, scientific, political, and social perspectives. Overall, Corey aims to pursue a career in healthcare as a physician-sociologist (MD-Ph.D). His biggest goal is to spread awareness of systemic issues primarily focusing on racial inequities. Through this outlet, Corey wants to focus on health policy, history, and urban health systems from domestic perspectives.
