Phelps Tin

I am an undergraduate pursuing a double major in Cellular Biology and Philosophy and a minor in Physics. My research interests revolve around genetics and immune defense mechanisms, and I am currently working on using bioinformatics to evaluate evolutionary relationships between prokaryotic and eukaryotic defense mechanisms and proteins. I also enjoy involving myself in wet lab biochemistry work and visualizing potential future biotechnology applications of current research topics.

I am from Shanghai and grew up in London before attending the University of Pennsylvania. Outside the lab, I commonly search for new places to dive and surf, and a few of my favorite pastimes include rowing, swimming, and boxing. I also enjoy spending time working with NGOs to help conserve and research the marine ecosystem.
