Summer Research and Fellowships Fair

Institute of Contemporary Art

The Curatorial Affairs SHIP position affords students the opportunity to gain experience working closely with the ICA Curatorial and Curatorial Affairs Departments conducting research and performing administrative tasks related to current and upcoming exhibitions. The primary project this summer will be assisting with research and organization of the ICA fine art prints and book archives. These prints and catalogs are key elements of the ICA’s history. Improved organization and detailed accounts of these items will be tantamount to future archival request, our historic record, and public access. The fellow will also work on the preparation and research for our upcoming exhibitions RE_ by Sissel Tolaas and Terence Nance: SWARM. The fellow will also assist with research and organization to prepare for these exhibitions which occur in next fall and spring 2023. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in the vibrant and fast-paced world of contemporary art. Students will have a unique opportunity to gain professional experience at an internationally acclaimed contemporary art museum working closely with a world-class curatorial team. Responsibilities vary widely presenting a fellow with many challenging, invigorating, and rewarding experiences. There is never a dull moment at the ICA. General knowledge of Excel and Adobe Suite is preferred but not necessary.
