Summer Research and Fellowships Fair

Play On Philly

Play On Philly is seeking enthusiastic teaching artist interns for its Summer Program! From June 20th through July 29th, POP will provide full-day music education programming to children in the Philadelphia region. With a focus on social justice, POP serves students from marginalized communities who would not otherwise have access to such rigorous musical training. With a focus on ensemble learning, POP offers all standard orchestral instruments, including: viola, violin, cello, bass, bassoon, clarinet, flute, oboe, french horn, trombone, trumpet, tuba, percussion and harp.

Located at Temple’s Boyer College of Music, K-12 students participate in a combination of studio and large ensemble classes, as well as choir, music theory, and other arts activities throughout the day. Interns will assist with teaching and administrative duties. They will shadow and support professional teaching artists in studios and ensembles and will have the opportunity to work with small groups independently.

If you have a background as a musician, an interest in education, and would love to get involved in an anti-racist music program, please apply to be an intern this summer!
