Qualitative Interviews for Participants in the PHL Housing+ Project

The PHL Housing+ Evaluation Research Project is a three year long study following the PHL Housing+ program, Philadelphia’s “UBI pilot”. This study involves focus groups, surveys, qualitative interviews, and the analysis of supplementary demographic data. There are 3 cohorts being observed: those receiving cash payments, those receiving housing vouchers, and those receiving neither.

The majority of my work focused on the qualitative interviews for the cash payments cohort. This poster and subsequent presentation will detail the process we used to conduct interviews, and the key themes from the thirty-nine interviews we conducted. While the piece this poster is focusing on is only a small portion of the PHL Housing+ Evaluation Research Project as a whole, it should serve as a useful lens to understand the affects of cash assistance.
