Carlos G. Chávez Pérez
I was born and raised in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico. I am an assistant researcher for the Raizen Laboratory at the Perelman School of Medicine. Under the mentorship of Dr. Raizen, I've furthered my passion for biomedical research by working on a novel assay to readily identify C. elegans mutants that lack a sleep response. My project has garnered funding from the Grant for Faculty Mentoring Undergraduate Research and from the Perelman Access Summer Scholars program. I'm currently majoring in Molecular & Cell Biology and minoring in Chemistry, Latin American Studies, and Music.
