Eric is a junior at Penn studying biochemistry and biophysics. His research interest is in the development of biological tools in translational research, especially in gene editing. Eric's current research project in the Peranteau Lab at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia focuses on the deployment of CRISPR/Cas9, a flexible gene-editing platform that has created an arsenal of therapeutic tools, to treat X-linked myotubular myopathy. He hopes to keep advancing the evolution of such tools to treat a range of diseases and aspires to make them more accessible in the contexts of clinical care and global health. Aside from science, Eric is also interested in increasing uptake of health services in Philadelphia and learning about public health models in areas around the world. In his free time, Eric enjoys running, playing the violin, and being active in the Chinese Students' Association at Penn.
