Michael A Fuentes
My name is Michael Adam Fuentes. I'm a first-generation college student passionate about education policy, economic inequity, and leveraging data science and analytics to improve public policy.
Majoring in Economics with minors in Data Science and Analytics, and Sociology, I'm dedicated to understanding the intersection of social issues and policy through quantitative analysis.
I have volunteered for and led event programming and service projects with several service and leadership organizations, such as the Rotary Youth Leadership Association and Alpha Phi Omega, the premier co-ed service fraternity at the University of Pennsylvania, where I strive to support the West Philly community!
When I am not studying causal inference in my data sciences classes or doing research on my personal project, I work as a research assistant at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education. There, I utilize Stata to contribute to, manage, and analyze the financial and academic data of an RCT trial investigating the impact of grant aid on low-income community college students.
I'm deeply interested in the prospect of translating my research and analytical skills into meaningful contributions within policy consultancies or think tanks. I can't wait to see where this all takes me.
With gratitude!
