Tara Yazdan Panah

Tara Yazdan Panah is majoring in history and political science and minoring in modern Middle East studies. Yazdan Panah was matched to Penn as a Questbridge Scholar and belongs to the first-generation, low-income community of Penn students. As a University Scholar, Yazdan Panah conducts independent research on the control of communist heritage sites in Eastern Europe. Yazdan Panah is also a co-founder and outreach chair of Penn Justice Democrats, a contributing writer for Fenjan, and vice president of Penn Persian Society. On campus, she has assisted with research at the Architectural Archives and the Penn Museum’s Cultural Heritage Center. Yazdan Panah plans to have a career in academia researching critical theory in sociology and historiography, which she hopes will help improve understandings of inequality.
