I am currently an undergraduate student at the University of Pennsylvania studying Biology with minors in Asian American Studies and Chemistry. I am interested in pursuing medical school in my graduate studies and hope to practice medicine in the future. At Penn, I have been part of a couple labs within the sciences. In March 2019, I joined the Cantu Lab at Penn Medicine, whose primary focus was to collect lung transplant specimens to create a biobank for use in future studies. In May 2020, under the Penn Undergraduate Mentoring Program, I was assigned to the Bredemeier Lab at the Perelman School of Medicine. Over the course of the summer, I assisted Dr. Bredemeier in collecting information and creating materials for his pilot study which aims to explore the relationships between repetitive negative thinking, anxiety and depression, and medication adherence in HIV+ individuals. Beyond the summer timeline of the PURM program, I have decided to stay with Dr. Bredemeier's lab and am continuing to assist Dr. Bredemeier in his project.
