Based on what you learned here and what you're continuing to study, what do you think Penn should take away in terms of 1) How it engages in philanthropy to support Philadelphia schools 2) How it supports incoming students from under-resourced school districts?

Hi Amy,

I'm glad this research is bringing to light some of the problems that exist within the education system that have largely been ignored or mishandled!  Do you think funding more community programs could help address some of the most severe inequities that exist within these school districts?  As we move into the digital era, will digital inequity continue to be as pressing of an issue even when all classes are back in person?

Amy, this is really interesting and especially important now that most schools have returned back to in-person education. In the near future and as the study continues, I wonder if these disparities will be taken into consideration and remedied in these schools now that students have returned together. 

I think this is a really important topic! Did you talk to the school administrators at all about their attempts to remedy these inequities? What sorts of programs and safeguards were in place to try and ensure students were still receiving an education during the pandemic?

This is an especially important and relevant topic today! I wonder how these inequalities will affect students in the long run. I would love to hear more about your results when they come out!
