Summer Research and Fellowships Fair

Kelly Writers House

Internships at the Kelly Writers House are designed for Penn undergraduates wishing to gain practical experience working within a busy, nonprofit literary arts center. Internship projects vary each summer based on the interests, learning goals, and experiences of applicants. Options for summer 2022 may include: (1) assisting with the Summer Workshop for Young Writers, a ten-day residential program for high school students, (2) editorial work for Jacket2, an online journal of poetry and poetics, and (3) audio and video editing for various Writers House projects produced in the Wexler Studio. In your application, please describe your interest in working at the Kelly Writers House, and specify which of the three potential projects (Summer Workshop, Jacket2, or AV work) most suits your interests and learning goals. Feel free to note any relevant experience you may have — including coursework — though experience is not a requirement. We especially want to know what you hope to learn this summer by interning at the KWH and how a KWH internship might relate to your academic goals, your creative interests, or your career plans.
