Landscapes of Belonging at a Student Run Free Clinic

Little is known about the illness experience of the patients who seek care at the UCHC medical clinic. It is probable that the majority of students and faculty involved at the clinic have not shared similar life experiences with many of their underprivileged patients. Thus, my research will collect illness narratives to better understand the lived experiences of patients at UCHC medical clinic and the role of the medical clinic within the illness experience of our patients. Insights from this research will be shared with clinic leaders and used to improve care delivery to patients.
