Lana Prieur

Lana Prieur is majoring psychology and minoring in chemistry and neuroscience. She is a Researcher at Platt Labs working under Dr. Michael Platt and Dr. Scott Rennie to explore the role of physiological synchrony in group interactions. A University Scholar, Lana’s independent research supported by CURF examines the intersection of leadership, group performance and grit. Lana is a foil fencer for the Quakers where she is an NCAA qualifier and mentors incoming fencers.

She volunteers with the Penn Wissahickon Hospice and is Service Chair at her fraternity, Phi Delta Epsilon where she initiated programs to support veterans at the hospice and to aid incoming students transition to socially-isolated college life during Covid-19 lockdowns. Lana is a Board Member of Penn’s swing dance group, the West Philly Swingers and heads the monthly social dancing subcommittee.

Lana has worked extensively with Special Olympics for over seven years in Philadelphia and New Jersey, filling nearly every volunteer role: fundraising, teaching, coaching, master of ceremonies, and background organizing. She was selected to attend the statewide Leadership Conferences to promote knowledge-sharing as a delegate from New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
