Jan Magielski

Jan Magielski

Jan Magielski is a fourth-year student at the University of Pennsylvania, majoring in Neuroscience, with minors in Chemistry and Psychology. His main areas of interest include, but are not limited to, neurodevelopmental disorders, epilepsy, psychiatric disorders, and sleep neuroscience. In the past, he was involved in research on the bidirectionality of sleep and externalizing behavior as well as neural circuits involved in REM sleep and ways in which mechanisms controlling wakefulness differ in health and disease. Currently, he works at the Helbig Lab and the Epilepsy Neurogenetics Initiative Clinic at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia where he researches the genetic basis of neurodevelopmental disorders and epilepsies. Additionally, he is the Vice-President for External Events of the Penn Neuroscience Society.
